Another Batch
I just finished the latest batch of handwoven tea towels. It was an interesting draft, an 8-shaft twill, that produced a really nice texture and design. As usual, the project took longer than I anticipated, but what else is new??
There are 10 towels in all, but only 5 are available due to local interest which I REALLY appreciate. The warp is natural Supima cotton, and the weft colors and materials varied. I made 3 with cottolin, one bright blue (sold) and 2 in a medium purple. All measure ~17" X 24.5."
The other 3 are 100% cotton, one woven with a dark navy, another with a dark purple, and the last in a very pretty medium green.
A couple of close-ups;
On the health front, I'm still dealing with the coughing brought on by Covid. I have good days and bad days, but I think (and hope!) I'm trending positively. I'm still waking up frequently and having a hard time falling asleep and we're also still "playing" with meds to try to stabilize my intestines. So much fun! Between that, the endless cold snap and run of snowstorms we seem to be in, and trying to get tax information together, it's a bit of a stressful time, but I keep trying to look on the bright side and hope for the best.
Happy Valentine's Day to all out there! We're expecting snow (again) so won't be going out to get anything to eat, but that's OK - maybe we'll find a good movie to watch!
