Summer Solstice
I already shared these photos on Facebook, but they are so lovely I wanted to make sure all could see them.
These photos were taken through a UV-protective window with my cellphone, so the colors are only about half as amazing as the sunrise was to my eye. Just breathtaking.
What a great way to end a shift/start a day. Mother Nature at her finest!
We spent yesterday at my father in law's memorial service; a wonderful gathering, but so very difficult. Many stories were told, and many tears were shed. The service was held at a beautiful botanical garden, and although I did not get a chance to roam around afterwards, the smells and beauty on the way in were very calming. It was a superb place to pay our last respects. RIP Alden.
